慈悲喜舍
佛教称“慈悲喜舍”为“四无量心”。
“慈悲”是基于内心的要求,主动去“慈爱”或“怜悯”所有的人,拔除他们的痛苦,使他们获得快乐,即使完全无缘的人也不例外,这是一种至高无上的情怀,完全超越世间的一切烦恼。
“喜”是他人得到快乐,或是所有的人都得到幸福后的那份欢喜。
“舍”则是对一切事物不起一点儿憎爱执着,或是不断付出的行为。
“慈悲喜舍”之所以称为“四无量心”,都由嘉惠众生而来,因为众生“无量”,所以福德也“无量”。
俗话说:“灯不点不亮。”没有实践,慈悲喜舍永远只是口惠,不过是四种无“亮”的心罢了!(摘自《日日是好日》释吉祥编辑)

18 虽乏资财为人贱,复遭重病及魔侵,
众生罪苦仍取受,无怯弱是佛子行。

under poor conditions,
always despised by men,
stricken by serious diseases and evil spirits,
still on top of that,
To take upon myself the sins
and sufferings of every being
and not to be discouraged,
is the practice of a Bodhisattva.

It was wise counsel given to a young man, pitch
upon that course of life which is most excellent, and custom will
make it the most delightful. But many pitch on no course of life at
all, nor form any scheme of living, by which to attain any valuable
end; but wander perpetually from one thing to another.
给年轻人一个忠告:选定最佳生活之道,习惯会使其快乐无比。但许多人绝非如此,他们根本不制定任何人生计划,以达到有意义的目标,而是朝三暮四,变化不止。
