Buddhism
and Rites
Buddhism is thus a personal religion,
and there is little room in it for ritual and ceremony. An act done
with an idea of one’sown conditioning ceases to be a rite. Much
of the seemingly ritual of present—day Buddhism, when seen thus
are really not rites.
